Recently, it was revealed that a version of avengers in sci-fi's new single song Sonic Fireworks that was used in Mazda's television commercial (CM), was sung by Sakanaction's bassist Kusakari Ami.
Sonic Fireworks (releasing on 14th Dec) was used as the CM image song for Mazda's new generation of AXELA and DEMIO cars. For each car there was a different version of the commercial, and in the DEMIO version, the female voice singing caused people to wonder "who's vocal is this?"
avengers in sci-fi is a band made up of three males, thus this question arose among fans. It was then revealed in the FM802 radio show on the night of 7th Dec, that the female vocal came from Kusakari Ami of Sakanaction.
Kohata Taro of avengers in sci-fi said that when making the song for the CM, they already wanted a female vocalist. Through tour events and support, the band knew Sakanaction, and they felt Kusakari's vocal fit the image of the song, so it became a collaboration that was limited to just the CM.
After this was revealed, there was great positive response on blogs and Twitters from fans of both bands.

In addition, you may wish to view the music video for the song, although it does not feature Kusakari. It is pretty cute though.

Basically, what Kohata said in the article means that we'll never get the full Kusakari version of the song since it's only for the commercial.
It's a pity, because while I like the original song fairly much, I definitely prefer the Kusakari version. It's not just my bias for Sakanaction; I feel a female vocal fits the song very well. Not to discount avengers in sci-fi's work though, there's no doubt Sonic Fireworks is great song.
I have to add that I'm actually really surprised that Kusakari's singing voice can sound this way. I've watched Sakanaction live performances on TV and DVD where the rest of the band usually provide backing vocals at some point, like in Rookie. Kusakari's voice is more mature sounding in them. If anything, I would've guessed Okazaki Emi (keyboardist) right away if they just said the voice was someone from Sakanaction! It's a pleasant surprise to find out she can pull off a more "cutesy" vocal.
