Yoru no Odoriko sales

sakanaction's latest and 7th single Yoru no Odoriko clinched 5th spot on the Oricon Weekly Charts for the week of 27 Aug to 2 Sep.

It started with them ranking 6th place on the first day, and then moving up and down slightly throughout the week, with a peak position of #3 on the 5th day (which happened to be a day after their Music Station performance).

They also achieved their highest ever first week sales for a single with 30,616 reported copies sold. Many congratulations to the band and Team Sakanaction!

(*Note: The first week sales figure for Aruku Around was erroneously stated via Twitter. Apologies for the mistake.)

The single has also gotten #22 on Oricon Monthly Chart for August, which is not bad considering they released on the last week of August.

This year so far has been pretty good to them in terms of exposure - Bach's PV taking home Video of the Year award; Boku to Hana being theme song of 37 sai de Isha ni Natta Boku; Yamaguchi writing the song for SMAP's recent single and theme song of the Japanese broadcast of the Olympics MomentYoru no Odoriko itself tying up with Mode School commercial; the Space Shower TV station ID; and not to mention their second time on Music Station. Maybe Yamaguchi's personal goal of 100k sales for an album won't be too far off in time to come.
