sakanaction left a couple of comments for Taiwanese fans through Bursting Core, the Taiwan promoter of "SAKANAQUARIUM 2013 sakanaction in Taiwan".
Those comments were posted by Bursting Core in Mandarin, so I'm translating them here.

Posted on 15th June (after their first day performance):
"Japan has a lot of amazing new bands. If we can become the cue for everyone to want to be in touch with Japanese music, it would be great.
We are aware that K-Pop is extremely popular in Taiwan, so it's precisely because of that, that you guys who like us really have good sense."

Posted on 17th June:
"We're just a bunch of big brothers and sisters who like music.
Not celebrities, but musicians.
This time for our new record to take 1st place on the charts is actually due to a bit of luck.
Because it just happened that we didn't release it on the same day as K-Pop, AKB, or other popular artists.
This time's tour is special to us.
Because it's a record that let us go on Music Station and Waratte Iitomo.
But actually we're people who are not very used to being on television programmes.
We're working hard to adapt.
sakanaction's biggest strength is our earnestness.
From now on we'll continue to sincerely face music and create music.
Thank you everyone for coming."
Do head over to Bursting Core's Facebook page to see a few more photos. The setlist for both days is also posted there.
hey so when he made the comment about kpop..is he saying he doesn't like that type of music? not that it matters because im not a fan of kpop anyways! lmao:)
ReplyDeleteHe actually gave this comment to a Taiwan news outlet, "I actually really admire K-Pop idol training methods, and I don't have the thinking that I hate or reject them, because all music is equal."
DeleteSo he doesn't dislike K-Pop, but I think why he has it on his mind so much is probably because there has been a few times when sakanaction released stuff the same time as K-Pop groups so they had to compete on chart rankings.
Please post more about Sakanaction. Thank you for posting this.
ReplyDeleteHi, thanks so much for setting up this blog! It's good to know that there are others who love this band in SG. Btw, do you know how to purchase their concert tix? I've joined their fan club etc but not sure how to purchase the tix since it is all in Japanese!! Help pls!
ReplyDeleteHello! I'm glad you like this blog. As for tickets, I've never tried with sakanaction specifically and I'm not familiar with the details, but I believe that you or a friend need to be living in japan in order to get the tickets the legit way.
DeleteThey let people apply for ticket balloting through Sakanaquarium(A) and sometimes through application numbers found in their CD/DVD releases, and when you strike, you have to pay through japanese credit card/convenience store payment methods, then they send you the tickets to your japanese address. Other than balloting, there is buying it directly at the convenience store but they tend to sell out within seconds/minutes depending on the venue.
The easier but more expensive and not-so-legit method is to use a proxy service to buy resale tickets. Many ways to go about it, but you can use services like FromJapan, Tenso to bid on tickets on Yahoo Auctions Japan; or use JE Goods Ticket Service to help you get tickets off Ticket.co.jp. However, be careful as sakanaction's side has the right to check your identification against the name on the ticket. This is rarely put in practice as I understand, but there's always a risk.
Sorry I'm not much help. :( I actually didn't even know you could join Sakanaquarium(A) from overseas, since I saw a portion of its content is region-locked.
