It has been revealed that sakanaction will be doing both the theme song and ending theme of the movie, "Judge!" (ジャッジ！) which will open in cinemas on 11th January 2014.
The theme song of the movie will be the fan favourite "Identity", which was previously released as a single in August 2010. The ending theme song will be a new song, titled "Eureka" (ユリイカ yuriika). The release for this song has not been decided.
"Judge!" is a movie starring Tsumabuki Satoshi, and directed by Nagai Satoshi who is also known for his work on commercials. Besides Tsumabuki, the movie cast also includes Kitagawa Keiko, Hamano Kenta, Agata Morio which are all very individualistic actors. The luxurious cast is also attracting attention.
Tsumabuki, who loves listening to sakanaction, feels extremely happy about this collaboration. He comments, "I'm overjoyed and dancing wildly to be able to connect with sakanaction whom I love, through a "movie". There's no mistake that their ingenious music which makes people's hearts dance, will help to enliven "Judge!"
Yamaguchi Ichiro of sakanaction also comments, "I'm very honoured as a composer to have a song released more than 3 years ago be picked up for use as a movie theme song. In addition, I was happy and it is really heartening to see Tsumabuki giving comments in magazines that he has been listening to our work since the era when we, sakanaction, were still fledgling. It is truly an honour to be able to work together in this way."
