SAKANATRIBE 2014 -LIVE AT TOKYO DOME CITY HALL- DVD/BD Sales

One Oricon week has passed since the release of SAKANATRIBE 2014 -LIVE AT TOKYO DOME CITY HALL-, so let's check out how it performed on the Oricon Charts!

The past week's releases included Arashi, AK-69 and Dempagumi Inc., which provided some competition.

However, sakanaction managed decently despite the hiccup along the way (the BD version's extra content had its audio/video sync off and fans who bought the BD had to send in proof of purchases to Victor Music to get a replacement BD in late August).

Here are the respective weekly ranks:

DVD (Music) Chart
Blu-ray Chart

If you remember, the DVD version was released in 2 parts/versions, one being the Standard Edition and the other being the TEAM SAKANACTION Edition. They were counted together on the DVD charts.

Oricon doesn't provide the sales numbers for DVDs and Blu-ray discs publicly, but I was able to pick up the weekly total from subscribers of Oricon.

*The DVD (Music) chart is a subset of the Overall chart and the sales numbers are the same.
The Music chart ranks are different as it removes movies, anime and other miscellaneous releases from the ranking.

Not surprisingly, sakanaction's BD sales are higher than the DVD sales, from the way it was packaged, and how Yamaguchi made the recommendation to get the BD, etc.

Also, Oricon has a Music DVD+BD Chart only subscribers can see, and sakanaction's 12,439 total copies sold took the weekly #2 rank. It had a difference of 521,240 with #1 (Arashi) and 1,494 with #3 (AK-69).

Putting aside other artists, here's a rank comparison chart with their previous live releases.

Although the ranks alone cannot tell us which sold better, it is still a good point of reference. I personally would not be surprised if SAKANAQUARIUM 2013 sold better than SAKANATRIBE 2014, since that was a tour tied to an album and had a lot more newly performed songs.

In any case, congratulations to the team for putting together yet another successful release!
