SAKANAQUARIUM 2011 DocumentaLy BD/DVD Chart Rankings

Just a quick roundup of how the DVD and BD did on the Oricon Charts! 

Unfortunately, Oricon doesn't provide hard numbers for amount of copies sold when it comes the DVDs and Blu-ray discs, but you can get a general idea of how it's selling by looking at the ranking.

On the DVD charts this past week there was strong competition, with AKB48, EXILE, NMB48 and others all releasing live concert footage. Including releases from TV shows and anime and so on, Sakanaction's rank was pushed down further. However, they did grab decent rankings, and once again, since there aren't any concrete numbers for sales, it could be that everyone is selling pretty well this week.

For the Blu-ray charts, there wasn't as much competition as the abovementioned groups did not release Blu-ray versions, but there was still YUI, who took the top spot, to contend with. Sakanaction ended up with a nice #3 rank.

Blu-ray Chart

It's hard to tell if the BD actually sold substantially more than the DVD or the BD got a better rank due to less artists releasing BDs, leading to decreased competition. In any case, I would guess they probably sold within expectations as the chart rankings look pretty good.
