They achieved #5 on the Oricon Weekly Album Charts, with 20,983 copies sold! It's not an amazing feat, but not too shabby either. The album started strong on the charts with a #2 on the first and second day, but some of the other competition this week were around the same level and ultimately overtook sakanaction in sales.
The band has gone on a short break due to Kusakari Ami's pregnancy, so it would not be surprising if their popularity has waned a bit. But, selling over 20,000 copies for a compilation album of B-sides and remixes is a good figure. It's about a quarter of "sakanaction"'s first week sales (82,577 copies), but they're not really to be compared since "sakanaction" is a studio album with many new songs.
Their upcoming new single "Shin-Takarajima" will be one to look forward to, as it's new material that fans have been waiting for.
